How To Conquer Money Worries and Prosper

Unfortunately, for most people money worries are common.  Fortunately, for most people money worries are curable and can actually act as a catalyst.  In fact, it was my own money worries that spawned this post.  Here is how I am conquering them to gain peace of mind and hopefully find prosperity.

You Can't Drink Money

1. Be grateful.

If money is your main worry be grateful for everything that you do have.

If you had any of life’s essential problems (poor health, dehydration etc.) you would not be worried about money but instead be focused on solutions.  Which leads to…

2. Realize what money truly is.

Money simply acts as an intermediary step toward a solution.  So why even place it in the path of your dreams? Whether it be maintaining a basic shelter over your head or driving a nicer car, it is more likely to happen if you focus on the successful completion of a goal rather than a stepping stone within that goal.

So don’t try and manifest money.   Manifest the life you want and the money will work itself out.

Doodling Without THinking Helps Me Realize What Is On My Mind.

Doodling without thinking brings out what is going on inside of me.  After I drew this I decided to write this post.

3.  Realize that in most cases it won’t change much.

I’m not denying that more money wouldn’t enhance your life at times but I am arguing that it wouldn’t fundamentally change the whole of it.

Pretend that right now you had a million dollars dropped into your bank account.  Would this exact moment be all that different for you?  You may become excited, but that would wear off.  You may even instantly run out the door and buy a ticket to Paris but, eventually you would settle down somewhere and do more-or-less the same thing you would have done without that million dollars.

4. Trust in the ebb and flow.

Sadly, worrying isn’t frivolous.  Worry and doubt, just like joy and optimism, are contagious.  So when times are hard remain positive and not only will you feel better but more opportunities will flow your way due to your joyful magnetism.

5.  Remain Present.

Worrying is simply projecting yourself into a hypothetical future. Instead, focus on the breath you are breathing at this exact moment.

Unless you are bleeding to death you’ll probably realize you don’t actually have any issues at this exact moment in time.  So enjoy the moment and let your mind focus on your lack of funds for tomorrow tomorrow.

Furthermore, remaining present will allow you to notice the opportunities that do float your way.

Welp, that about wraps it up.  Writing this post helped to settle my mind so I hope it helped your mind reading it.  If you have any tips or advice of your own let me know in the comments.

    Hi Mark,

Great post! I agree with your principles. I think the goal is to be time rich and the allocation of your wealth is the most important, not how much you have. You can do a lot with a little and a little with a lot.

It’s seems unfortunately difficult to be in the present all the time, past regrets or future expectations always cloud the mind more easily. Your principles are spot on though and I agree that the money will come when you follow your instincts and stick to your own path!

    All the best,

      Hey Scott,

Thanks! I agree and I’m glad to see you’ve decided to become time (and adventure) rich and vagabound around Europe. I hope to follow in your foot steps soon enough.

    Hi Mark,

Jon Bon Jovi here from the band, Bon Jovi. I wanted to let you know that what you say is right, and what you write is what people should say. Also, I have a new album coming out this spring.

    Keep on rockin’

      Oh Hey Jon Bon Jovi,

You know I agree with your play on words but often times people think that I am just living on a prayer.

Excited to hear the new album.

    yes! Number 4!
Truly, “joyful magnetism” can make miracles happen. Believing that things will happen totally makes those things happen, and its the biggest step.
Last year, I had to write a CV for my professor and I wrote down a job that I did not have yet, and I totally GOT THAT JOB! Instead of worrying about my pending application, etc., I just focused on the present tasks at hand and viola! money flowing my way.

Woop woop. Good for you! Yeah it is hard to almost “trick” yourself into believing. But it is important and can happen. Congrats on the Job!

You diagnosed the biggest epidemic in America at point #1. Entitled has replaced grateful. When our daughter was 14 we took her on a Christian mission to the freshly busted up Soviet Union. Flying home into SFI she leaned over and said, “Mom, we’re so fortunate to be Americans, we have a great country.”
People sometimes misquote the Bible and say, “Money is the root of all evil.” But that’s not what it says. The LOVE of money is the root of all kinds of evil and those that can never get enough will find instead, plenty of sorrow.
    Great read Mark.

      Hey Kelly!

I’m so glad you and your kids are getting international exposure to broaden your world views. It’s great to see the world through as many eyes as possible.

I agree, money isn’t the problem it is the attitude that many of us have around it.

      Keep up the good word!
